Electronic Living Expo Moves to November 2008, Shifts Spotlight to Pre-Holiday Consumer Electronics "Buzz"

New Date Allows Industry to Showcase Products, Trends in Advance of Shopping Season

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - December 5, 2007) - In a move aimed at capturing interest around the 2008 pre-holiday shopping season, Living Expositions, Inc. has announced that it will move the date of the Electronic Living Exposition (ELX) Boston to November 2008.

The exposition -- a national event joining together manufacturers, retailers, service providers and installers with consumers -- was planned to debut in February. Consensus from the organizers' consumer electronics contacts is that the November 2008 timeframe offers a better opportunity for consumers and the industry to connect with the public at the beginning of the holiday shopping season.

"As ELX has seen from the online and print media buzz in recent weeks, November is the time when excitement begins to build around new products for the holiday season, and nowhere is this more apparent than in the world of consumer electronics," said Barry Schneier, chief marketing officer, ELX. "Beginning this month and continuing through the holidays and January's Consumer Electronics Show (CES), we'll be working with the industry to set the stage for an ELX event that will begin to build the buzz for the 2008 shopping season."

ELX will be an opportunity for the consumer electronic industry to connect directly with consumers through a variety of on-site and online programs and activities. Produced by Living Expositions, Inc., the event will showcase and demonstrate cutting-edge products and technologies in home entertainment, gaming, personal computing, mobile communications and more offered by leading manufacturers, retailers and services. Attendees will also have access to product introductions and demonstrations, interactive activities, live and online entertainment, how-to workshops and expert presentations. Moreover, companies will enjoy more opportunities to connect with ELX attendees before and after the show through an active online community site that will be launched in advance of the November event.

The Boston event -- to be held at the Bayside Expo Center on November 14-16, 2008 -- will be the first in a series of expositions around the country. Additional events for 2009 are being planned in Seattle, Chicago, Miami and San Jose. This inaugural event is expected to draw an estimated 30,000 attendees from the greater Boston area.

Verizon, the premier sponsor for ELX Boston, is planning to power the event with its fiber optic network and FiOS voice and data services. The Boston Globe and CBS RADIO have signed on as media sponsors.

Organizers will be seeking sponsors and exhibitors for the expo's unique consumer destinations called "neighborhoods." Each will highlight a unique aspect of the role electronics play in the way we learn, create, share and live. Exhibitors will not only be able to showcase their offerings in a consumer-friendly setting but will also be able to demonstrate and educate the public as to how their products complement today's evolving electronic influenced lifestyle.

With a 260,000-square-foot show floor, consumers will be able to test, audition and compare offerings as well as interact with leading manufacturers to exchange ideas and information.

ELX will be the first event of its kind to be driven and designed by consumer input through social media networking. Throughout 2008, consumers will be invited to contribute to the design and programs of ELX through shared dialogue on social networks, blogs and other interactive opportunities. Consumers also will be able to participate in a range of online and interactive programs, including gaming, promotions and contests.
