Electronic Recycling Association: Computer Donations and Recycling in Vancouver, British Columbia

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - April 10, 2007) - ERA is looking for volunteers to help refurbish computers for many outstanding requests from charities, elderly homes and non profit groups, who can not afford these computers otherwise.

ERA is a non profit organization that collects old computers otherwise destined to landfills, for donation to charities and non profits groups. The same computers the ERA donates, are being buried across Canada in different landfills, and even smelted by large recycling companies for profit.

ERA is hoping to put a stop to the endless waste, by encouraging people and corporations to donate their old computers, laptops, servers and networking equipment. This equipment can be very useful to many people all over Canada and the rest of the world.

ERA's donors can be proud that their old computers are helping children learn, helping the elderly access technology, and helping many charitable and non profit organizations accomplish their goals on minimal or no budgets at all.

ERA recently donated 50 Pentium 4 computers, with 17' monitors to an elderly home in Calgary, and a disability association, thanks to a donation of these computers, and brand new 120 GB hard drives from EPCOR.

These computers were refurbished, and donated at no charge to these very needy charities.

Any charities, non profit groups, elderly homes, and poor people in Canada can request computers from the ERA, and all donation requests within Canada are filled within 1 or 2 weeks or asking for the computers.

ERA is constantly looking for donations of old computers, and even offers its services to different landfills, whereas ERA staff and trucks can come to the landfill and remove computers destined for smelting or burial. Some landfills have signed up to this program, while others continue to enforce to policy of no salvaging and continue to burry or smelt useful computers. ERA needs the help of volunteers to change their stand.

ERA can pickup computers from anywhere in Canada, so if your company wants to donate, rest assured the ERA can help you.
