Electronic Recycling Association: Needy Charities and Non Profit Organizations Receive Donated Computers From the ERA and Many Responsible Corporations in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Canada

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - June 5, 2007) - Electronic Recycling Association: Thanks to donations made to the ERA by socially responsible corporations such as Ferus Gas Industries Trust of Calgary, Tesco Corporation in Calgary, Capital Health Authority in Edmonton, Aker Kvaerner of Vancouver, and many others, the ERA is able to provide working laptops, computers, monitors, and printers to many needy charities.

The ERA is a non profit organization that collects used computers from corporations and government departments, otherwise destined to landfills and incinerators. The ERA then refurbishes these computers and donates them to many non profit and charitable organizations in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Canada and even world wide. Some of the recent donations include donating computers to a hospital in Uganda, to a school in Belize, to Surrey's Amberheart Cancer Foundation, West End Seniors Network in Vancouver, Calgary Drop in Centre, and many other charities.

ERA currently has a large list of needed equipment posted on its website. Several charities have been waiting for laptops, servers, computers, monitors and printers for a while, and the ERA is unable to fulfill their needs due to the shortage of equipment donated.

Corporations, government departments, and individuals across Canada are asked to visit www.era.ca and choose a charity to help.

The ERA estimates that for 2007 it needs to collect an additional 100,000 computers and monitors, and 10,000 laptops to fulfill the needs of all the charities, and to be able to cover the costs of picking up old computers, testing them, refurbishing them, and donating them at no charge to needy causes.
