Eliot Spitzer Opens Up to Entrepreneurs' Organization, New York Chapter

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - June 17, 2009) - Tonight, The Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO), New York Chapter is hosting "An Intimate Evening With Eliot Spitzer." The live event will be his most in-depth discussion since his departure from public life in March of 2008.

Tonight, beginning at 6:00 pm, Spitzer will participate in this EO-NY event moderated by FOX Business Network (FBN) Anchor Liz Claman. Guests will hear the inside story on how the "Sheriff of Wall Street" fought the Gambino crime family as Assistant District Attorney and reinvented the New York Attorney's General role prosecuting white collar criminals, predatory lenders and businesses involved with price fixing. Burning questions about his fall from grace, and his current views on politics, the economy and his own future, will be asked and answered.

"Spitzer's highs and lows will present a fascinating insight into power, leadership, success and adversity, the lessons of which will no doubt benefit our members on both a personal and business level," said EO-NY President Matthew Weiss. "As Attorney General, Spitzer sent fear into the hearts of corporations with something to hide. Now as a member of the private sector, entrepreneurs are interested to learn how he intends to make a difference, his views on the public sector, the economy and what he has learned from the last year's turn of events."

EO-NY is the largest chapter within the global Entrepreneurs' Organization of more than 7,000+ business owners. Run by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs, EO-NY is made up of the City's most influential small business owners with $1-50M in revenue. In 2009, the award-winning EO-NY chapter created 1,246 jobs and generated over $1.3 billion in sales.

"Entrepreneurs have always been the driving force of the New York economy," said Former Governor Eliot Spitzer. "I'm eager to speak to some of the most dynamic business owners in the City about what Wall Street needs to learn from Main Street at such a critical time in New York's history. EO-NY plays a pivotal role in bringing entrepreneurs together to learn and grow their businesses, and that's just the kind of support the City needs right now."

Liz Claman, an Emmy Award-winning business journalist, joined FBN in October 2007 following her tenure at NBC and ABC and most recently as anchor at CNBC in New York. Known as "The Red Fox" for her hard-hitting reporting, Claman co-anchors "FOX Business with Liz Claman and David Asman" and "Bulls & Bears," and hosts "Countdown to the Closing Bell." Claman is also the author of "The Best Investment Advice I Ever Received: Priceless Wisdom from Warren Buffett, Steve Forbes, and Dozens of Other Top Financial Experts."
