Elluminate, Inc. Named 2007 Tech Museum Awards Laureate

Elluminate Is 1 of 25 Innovators From Around the World Applying Technology to Benefit Humanity

CALGARY, AB--(Marketwire - September 19, 2007) - Elluminate, Inc., a leading global provider of Web-collaboration technologies, was today named one of 25 innovators from around the world to be honored by this year's The Tech Museum Awards: Technology Benefiting Humanity. Sponsored by The Tech Museum of Innovation, one of the country's premier science and technology museums, and presented by Applied Materials, Inc., The Tech Museum Awards honor individuals who are applying technology to benefit humanity and spark global change.

The Laureates recognized by the Program each year must demonstrate the use of technology to significantly improve the human condition. Winners are chosen by a prestigious panel of international judges organized by the Center for Science, Technology, and Society at Santa Clara University, and made up of Santa Clara University faculty as well as leaders from educational and research institutions, industry and the public sector around the world.

Elluminate was selected from hundreds of nominations sent from 68 countries for its groundbreaking Fire and Ice online classroom series that made use of the company's flagship product, Elluminate Live!®. The real-time virtual classroom software product is used for highly interactive live online classes, lectures, demonstrations and meetings that help organizations increase student understanding, productivity and access to instructors.

For the Fire and Ice series, junior high school students from three continents -- two Canadian schools, three schools from remote parts of Brazil, and one school from Mozambique -- participated in a collaborative project to address global warming issues in local areas. Using a combination of offline and online collaboration technologies (including Elluminate Live!), students were able to cost-effectively collaborate, share and present ideas, and develop innovative projects to benefit the environment in their local areas. Elluminate Live! permitted students, including some from remote areas limited to dial-up Internet connections, to present their findings and explain their action plan to a global audience in real time.

All of the Laureates will be showcased at The Tech in San Jose and featured on The Tech Award's official Web site, www.techawards.org. One Laureate in each category will receive a $50,000 cash prize, announced during the annual awards gala, which takes place this year on November 7th.

"The Tech Awards are an opportunity to showcase how technology and innovation are addressing global challenges," said Peter Friess, president of The Tech. "Elluminate has made remarkable contributions toward significantly improving the human condition."

"The Tech Awards are an incredible honor, recognizing individuals and organizations whose ideas and execution of those ideas are changing the world," said Stace Wills, director of Corporate Development for Elluminate and co-founder of Fire and Ice. "We are proud to be among those recognized for their contributions, and will continue to develop solutions that improve the overall well being of people worldwide."
