"The University of Calgary adopted a fully integrated use of Elluminate Live! with our Blackboard Learning System campus-wide in Fall 2005," said Joanne Carruthers, e-learning consultant at the University of Calgary's Teaching & Learning Center. "With the ease of single-point sign on, the integration of both a live and asynchronous platform allows our campus to increase the quality and quantity of interaction between students and instructors, promotes active learning and respects different learning styles. From small group student project discussions online, to live presentations by researchers globally and virtual office hours, creating Elluminate sessions within the Blackboard platform allows for many opportunities to improve the teaching and learning process."

"Having Elluminate plugged into the Blackboard platform has expanded the use of Elluminate at Babson immensely," said Tova Garcia Duby, interim co-director of the Curriculum Innovation and Technology Group at Babson College. "Elluminate has gone from a tool faculty needed assistance to set up to a self-service tool. Faculty can now create sessions on their own using the Blackboard control panel, an interface and format they are familiar with. In addition, faculty are secure knowing that only registered students can access and attend their course Elluminate sessions as the building block supports the Blackboard course enrollment. Another major benefit is that faculty can now create sessions for student groups to use, and the students can use these sessions without any faculty involvement."

"We are extremely pleased to continue our partnership with Blackboard to extend the company's popular e-Education platform to include live eLearning and web collaboration," said Maurice Heiblum, president of Elluminate USA, Inc. "Many customers, such as the University of Calgary and Babson College, have been using Elluminate Live! to enhance online interactivity between teachers and students. With this new Blackboard Building Block, the process to access a virtual classroom will be easier than ever."
