Eloqua Honored for Influencer Relations Success

Company Nets Award for Innovative Social Media Campaign

VIENNA, VA--(Marketwire - November 16, 2010) - Eloqua, the leader in marketing automation solutions that dramatically accelerate revenue growth, has won an Excellence in New Communications award sponsored by the Society for New Communications Research. The coveted award was given in recognition of Eloqua's successful "Steal our Content" campaign.

The annual Excellence in New Communications awards honor individuals and organizations that are pioneering the use of social media and Internet communications technologies in business, media, nonprofits/NGOs, education, government, and technology. Eloqua was honored for its "Steal our Content" campaign, which was designed to increase brand awareness and traffic as well as gain the attention of top influencers online. The campaign included two pieces of internally created content -- the 42-page Social Media Playbook and The Content Grid infographic. The Social Media Playbook serves as a guide to the most important social media platforms available to marketers today while The Content Grid provides a helpful visualization for marketers stepping into the burgeoning world of content marketing. Designed in collaboration with JESS3, both pieces of content were made available for free, a decision that led award presenter, "The New Influencers" author Paul Gillin, to ask Eloqua's recipient, "Have you lost your mind?"

The campaign proved highly successful in reaching some of the most influential "Marketing 2.0" voices in the industry. Eloqua received 35,000 views and downloads of its content and 12,000 new visitors to the company's It's All About Revenue blog. The company also saw 21% lift in online demos, the leading indicator of purchase intent.

"We are honored by this accolade from the prestigious Society for New Communications Research," said Brian Kardon, CMO of Eloqua. "The momentum we have experienced internally from producing functional marketing content is rivaled only by the honors Eloqua has received from our peers in the industry. It is gratifying to have earned the attention of this new marketing movement."

"Eloqua's program exemplifies the mission of this awards program, the innovative and successful use of social media and new communications, and we are honored to recognize them through this awards program," commented SNCR Senior Fellow Paul Gillin, chair of SNCR's Excellence Awards committee.

Award nominations were submitted as case studies, and reviewed by a panel of SNCR Fellows. In addition to the top award winners in each division and category, Commendations of Merit and Commendations of Excellence were presented to nearly 30 other organizations that submitted case studies in the awards program. In its five-year history, SNCR has honored nearly 200 organizations and individuals through this prestigious awards program and all the winning case studies will be published on

The "Steal our Content" campaign was also recently recognized as a finalist for Forrester Groundswell Award from Forrester Research. It's the second year in a row Eloqua was recognized by Forrester Research in the competition. The company's interactive sales tool, The Conversation, won the award in 2009.
