EMA Announces Dr. Cesar A. Aristeiguieta Joins Physician Leadership Team as Director for EMS and Disaster Preparedness and Associate Director of the Emergency Department at Centinela Hospital Medical Center

Dr. Aristeiguieta's Unique Background and Expertise Expands EMA's Commitment to the Communities It Serves

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - March 26, 2008) - Emergent Medical Associates ("EMA" or the "Group") is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Cesar A. Aristeiguieta to its physician leadership team. Dr. Aristeiguieta, a residency trained Board Certified Emergency Physician, most recently served as the California State EMS Director. Dr. Aristeiguieta will act as the group-wide EMA Director for EMS and Disaster Preparedness, as well as the Associate Director of the Emergency Department at Centinela Hospital Medical Center ("CHMC") in Inglewood, California.

Dr. Aristeiguieta comes to EMA with extensive leadership experience in both the public and private sectors. He serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine at the University of California, Davis. He also most recently served as the Director of the California Emergency Medical Services Authority, where he was responsible for state-wide EMS and disaster preparedness efforts. Dr. Aristeiguieta also previously served as the Medical Director of the Los Angeles County Paramedic Training Institute, and as the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree, California.

Dr Aristeiguieta is a passionate community advocate. This year, he was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame of the California State University, Bakersfield, for his lifelong commitment to public and community service. He was also awarded the California Department of Transportation 2003 Excellence in Transportation Award for his leadership in the creation of the Angeles Crest Highway Traffic Safety Corridor Project. Dr. Aristeiguieta serves on the national Board of Governors of the American Red Cross and the Board of Advisors of Goodwill Industries of Southern California.

President George W. Bush appointed Dr. Aristeiguieta to the White House Fellowship in 2002. As a senior member of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Dr. Aristeiguieta served his fellowship year as a direct advisor to Secretary Tommy Thompson on a wide variety of health, safety, and welfare matters. Secretary Thompson subsequently appointed Dr. Aristeiguieta to his Technical Advisory Group on the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA).

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed Dr. Aristeiguieta to the Medical Board of California on August 19, 2004. The California State Senate subsequently confirmed his nomination on August 18, 2005. Dr. Aristeiguieta serves as the Vice-President of the Board, and he is a member of the Executive Committee, Chair of the Medical Errors Taskforce, and a member of the Diversion Committee.

Dr. Aristeiguieta has a seventeen-year-old daughter, Adriana, who shares his enthusiasm for films, photography, sports, community service, and the outdoors.
