EMCORE to Demonstrate Infiniband™ 56Gb/s FDR, 120 Gb/s Ethernet CXP Active Optical Cables and 14Gb/s Optical Sub-Assemblies at OFC 2011

ALBUQUERQUE, NM--(Marketwire - March 8, 2011) -  EMCORE Corporation (NASDAQ: EMKR) today announced that it will demonstrate two new interconnect products at OFC including a 56Gb/s FDR and a 120 Gb/s CXP active optical cable for high performance computing (HPC), high-end Ethernet router and switch applications. EMCORE will also demonstrate 14Gb/s transmit and receive optical sub-assemblies (TOSA/ROSA) for next generation Fibre Channel storage area networks. Live demonstrations will take place at OFC/NFOEC in Los Angeles, March 8-10, 2011, Booth #2125.

High performance computers, telecommunication routers, storage networks, grid and cloud computing systems require higher speed interconnects to support the increasing performance requirements. These FDR and CXP active optical cable products provide the highest aggregated level of data throughput in a compact, lightweight form-factor capable of supporting the bandwidth needs of these next generation systems. 

The 14Gb/s TOSA/ROSA products enable our customers to support the latest 16X Fibre Channel data-rate as market demand transfers from 4-8 Gb/s transceivers to 14 Gb/s optical transceivers.
