Emerge.MD TeleHealth Releases OnePass™ Secure Messaging Application to Improve Care Team Collaboration

App Designed to Accelerate Communication and Improve Patient Outcomes and Throughput

PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwired - Dec 6, 2013) - Leading telehealth provider Emerge.MD has announced the release of OnePass, a secure messaging application that enables instant access to a clinician's directory of care teams across all systems via private cloud. Unlike other apps that focus only on provider messaging, the OnePass app enables the entire virtual care continuum, starting with secure messaging and scaling up to real-time audio, video and contextual data sharing. The result is a much simpler way for multi-disciplinary clinical teams to collaborate and respond quickly to patient needs.

"This year Emerge.MD delivered just what the doctor ordered: a simple mobile app for secure messaging that's connected to an enterprise-grade cloud platform," said Dr. Shahram Partovi, founder of Emerge.MD. "This application is especially important because of new CMS rules and fines related to unsecure messaging."

"Emerge.MD brings clinical collaboration out of the stone age and into the space age," said Dr. Jim Mankin, Chair of Surgery Department, St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center. "As a surgeon, my consultation is only as good as the information I have access to. OnePass puts the patient, the entire care team and critical patient information, such as their film, in the palm of my hand."

OnePass was designed to complement Emerge.MD's existing suite of virtual care collaboration tools that make it easy to provide specialty services anytime, anywhere and on any device.

"We have been using Emerge.MD's Consult Accelerator for the past year and now we are using OnePass to further simplify communication between our practitioners by allowing them instant access to each other on their mobile devices without revealing their confidential contact numbers. This type of communication is already a vital part of their daily lives," said Joan Robley, Director of Medical Staff Services at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center. "This app also has the ability to eliminate the need for our practitioners to carry a pager."

The OnePassapp includes medical-grade security features to meet HIPAA and HITECH compliance requirements, such as message expiration and remote wipe, 256-bit encryption at rest and in transit, and a secure pin to protect against lost devices.

The OnePass™ mobile app is available for download from the Apple App Store now. An Android version will be announced in the near future.
