PARSIPPANY, NJ--(Marketwire - Oct 16, 2012) - Emergency Medical Associates was selected by Newton Medical Center, a member of Atlantic Health System, to provide emergency care services. Emergency Medical Associates began staffing the emergency department June 1.

David Stuhlmiller, MD, FACEP, has been named medical director of the Emergency Department at Newton Medical Center.

Emergency Medical Associates staffs two other Atlantic Health System hospitals: Morristown Medical Center and Emergency Services at Overlook Medical Center's Union Campus.
Newton Medical Center's state-of-the-art, 22,000-square-foot emergency department sees an annual volume of 29,000 visits. It features 30 private treatment areas, as well as dedicated laboratory and radiology services. It is the only facility in Sussex County to receive state designation as a Primary Stroke Center, and has been the recipient of several VHA Leadership Awards for exceeding national performance standards.
