The Emergency Nurses Association Announces the Winner of the First Annual Blue Jay Consulting Emergency Department Nurse Leader of the Year Award

Three Recipients of Distinguished Recognition Also Named

ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwire - Jan 23, 2012) -

Blue Jay Consulting and the Emergency Nurses Association announced today that Tami Morin, MS, BS, RN, CPEN, the Emergency Department Clinical Nurse Manager at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison was selected as the first to receive the Emergency Department Nurse Leader of the Year Award.

Morin was selected as the recipient due to her significant contributions to the emergency department in the following categories:

  • Collaboration with emergency medicine
  • Quality patient care
  • Operational effectiveness
  • Education
  • Community service
  • Synergistic approach to leadership within the emergency department, hospital or hospital system

Due to the superb qualifications of the nominees, three Recipients of Distinguished Recognition have also been named. In alphabetical order they are:

  • Cindy Rentsch, MSN, RN, CEN, CCRN. Edward Hospital & Health Services, Naperville, Il
  • Jonathan Wilson, MSN, RN, CEN, CHEP, University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS

On Thursday, February 23, 2012, the award recipients will be honored at the ENA State and Chapter Leaders Conference in New Orleans. Blue Jay Consulting will also show a video highlighting the recipient's dedication to emergency nursing and her patients.

This award was created in conjunction with the Emergency Medicine Director Award given by Blue Jay Consulting, the Emergency Medicine Foundation, and the American College of Emergency Physicians to recognize and celebrate nurses and physicians with exemplary emergency care collaborative behavior.

For the first time, these two awards have one unified purpose of bringing together both sides of the care delivery team.
