EMLab's Honolulu MicroLab™ Receives A2LA Accreditation

SAN BRUNO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 6, 2006 -- Environmental Microbiology, Inc. (EMLab™) is pleased to announce the accreditation of its Honolulu MicroLab™ (certificate number: 2360.01) by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for spore trap and direct exam air analysis.

A2LA provides formal recognition of a company's technical capability to perform specific tests, types of tests, or calibrations. Assessment of the laboratory is conducted by technical experts in their field. In order to maintain an A2LA accreditation, a laboratory must participate in proficiency testing on a regular basis to demonstrate their competency. A2LA requirements surpass those of ISO/IEC 17023, a standard which states the general requirements for laboratory accreditation.

Dave Gallup, Chairman of EMLab™, said, "We are proud of our association with the A2LA and are pleased to provide this accreditation in keeping with our mission of being the benchmark for quality, turnaround time, and customer service in the indoor air quality (IAQ) industry. We are proud to add this location to our list of 15 AIHA accredited laboratories and over 25 PAACB certified analysts."

EMLab™ is recognized as one of the leading commercial indoor air quality laboratories in North America, specializing in the analysis of air and surface samples for asbestos, bacteria, and fungi. EMLab™ has received AIHA, A2LA, NVLAP, and CA-ELAP accreditations. For more information, visit the official website at or call 866-888-6653.
