Emmy Award-Winning Producer, Michael Nadeau Launches Indiegogo Campaign to Fund MBE: Morning Becomes Eclectic Documentary Film

Expert Team of LA-Based Companies Unite to Create Music Doc About Local Public Radio Station 89.9 FM KCRW's Iconic Music Program

LOS ANGELES, CA --(Marketwired - November 20, 2013) - Producer/director Michael Nadeau (Art & Copy) and producer Kyle Schember, cofounder of Santa Monica-based production company Subtractive; announce the launch of their Indiegogo campaign to raise funds to finish, distribute and market their MBE: Morning Becomes Eclectic feature-length documentary film. While not associated with the production or marketing of the film, KCRW has provided unparalleled access to the documentary filmmakers. Directed by Nadeau, the film chronicles more than three decades of the trendsetting independent music program on the Los Angeles public radio station KCRW and the hosts who have made it famous with live in-studio sessions and interviews with breakout artists. With the goal of $89.9K, also the call numbers for KCRW's terrestrial broadcast signal, Indiegogo contributions will help the filmmakers finish the production of the film, including final editing, color correction, audio editing, mixing, and mastering. The filmmakers are hoping to raise more than their initial goal in order to fund marketing and self-distribution of the film.

Rewards range from special thank you messages from the director, limited-edition MBE doc t-shirts, documentary CREW hoodies, HD digital downloads, autographed DVDs and Blu-Ray discs of the film, to the SONOS Wireless High Fidelity Home Theater Package. There will also be a special limited-edition print offering featuring the work of acclaimed KCRW resident photographer Larry Hirshowitz who has documented the musicians of Morning Becomes Eclectic for more than a decade. Additional premium rewards include, the LA red-carpet premiere event, private edit-bay lunch with the filmmakers, special screenings and All-Access Pass VIP MBE experience.

In MBE: Moring Become Eclectic director Nadeau explores how audiences and artists connect through music and culture as seen through the lens of KCRW public radio's famed program hosts: Tom Schnabel (1979-1990), Chris Douridas (1990-1998), Nic Harcourt (1998-2008) and Jason Bentley (2008-present). Through intimate interviews, archival footage, concert performances and exclusive behind-the-scenes moments, Nadeau dives into the creative process with artists such as Adele, Beck, Coldplay, Duffy, Moby, Radiohead, Ry Cooder, Tom Waits, and Youssou N'Dour while daring to explore the broader theme of human connectivity through music. Acknowledging KCRW's long history and relationship with the Hollywood film and music industries, Nadeau further explores the political and philosophical implications of being a public radio broadcaster located in the heart of the commercial entertainment world.
