Empirix Automated Testing Solution Now Rated "Avaya Compliant"

Hammer On-Call for Large Contact Centers Is Compatible With Key Avaya Contact Center Solutions; Provides Businesses With a Scaleable Hosted Service for Application Testing and Monitoring

BEDFORD, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 28, 2006 -- Empirix® Inc., which helps organizations adopt complex communications solutions with confidence, today announced that its Hammer® On Call automated testing service is compliant with key contact center solutions from Avaya (NYSE: AV), a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.

Hammer On-Call is based on Empirix's patented Hammer technology, which drives a high volume of calls into an application or network while measuring performance at every step. The hosted application is now compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya Interactive Response 2.0, a standards-based self-service platform for contact centers, and enables automated testing of how the Avaya solution will perform under even the highest of calling volumes.

Empirix Hammer On-Call is part of a broader set of Hammer Performance Assurance services that enable automated testing of large Avaya contact centers with 100 or more agent seats. Hammer On-Call also performs automated computer telephony integration (CTI) testing in an Avaya environment. This helps to ensure that Avaya contact center solutions -- including speech self-service, speech recognition, intelligent routing, agent desktop and telephony applications -- are properly integrated and provide the best possible performance and return on investment. The result is a better experience for callers and agents, lower deployment costs and a way for companies to deploy new or upgraded Avaya solutions in their unique contact center environment with even greater confidence.

Through a reseller agreement with Empirix, Avaya now offers Hammer On-Call services as part of its comprehensive support portfolio for enterprise contact centers.

"Ensuring the successful integration of complex contact center solutions is critically important to Avaya and its customers," said Brian Carmichael, director, contact center practice, Avaya Consulting and Systems Integration. "Now, using Hammer On-Call and Performance Assurance services from Empirix, we can enrich call stream testing, mimic customer environments and perform volume stress testing to help us minimize potential problems and ensure we deliver quality solutions on time and on budget."

Empirix has more than a decade of experience in contact center testing and monitoring and has won numerous awards for its technology, including Call Center Magazine's "Product of the Year," Frost & Sullivan's "Contact Center Technology of the Year" and Network Computing's "Editor's Choice."

The company is a member of the Avaya DeveloperConnection Program -- an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company's investment in its network.

As a member of the program, Empirix is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, N.J. There, a team of Avaya engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compliant. Doing so ensures businesses can confidently add best-in-class capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure -- speeding deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.

"Testing and monitoring are crucial when deploying and operating new contact center technologies, so we're pleased Hammer On-Call is now tested for compatibility with Avaya's self-service platform," said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya. "With the involvement of companies like Empirix, our Avaya developer community has become a true catalyst for rapid innovation. We're creating multivendor applications that help enterprises around the world unleash powerful new possibilities for operating more efficiently and effectively."

According to Empirix Vice President Phil Odence, Avaya's DeveloperConnection Program enables Empirix and Avaya to work more closely and deliver a superior solution to joint customers. "Empirix and Avaya share a commitment to helping contact centers utilize technology to improve the customer experience," said Odence. "We're excited about introducing a solution that allows businesses to deploy new contact center technology with confidence."
