Employee-Driven Culture Helps Fuel Customer and Partner Success, Earns NetApp #6 Ranking as Best Place to Work in New York City

NetApp New York's Response to Superstorm Sandy Is Emblematic of a Company Culture That Inspires Employees to Do the Extraordinary

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - Dec 3, 2012) - NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) announced today that it ranked #6 on the Crain's New York Business Journal's annual "Best Place to Work in New York City" list for 2012. This marks the third consecutive year that NetApp has appeared in the top 10 on this distinguished list. This #6 ranking affirms NetApp's unique company culture and strong commitment to employees, customers, and partners around the world.

NetApp's model-company approach is based on a core set of values that include trust, integrity, leadership, simplicity, adaptability, teamwork, and a go-beyond attitude. This strong set of shared values makes NetApp a company that customers and partners want to work with. In addition to enabling its customers' and partners' success, these core values were instrumental to NetApp's commitment to the community in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. NetApp employees, including many from the New York office, immediately rallied together to aid in the efforts to get the recovery underway. Employees drove hundreds of miles to pump water out of people's homes and to deliver provisions such as gas, milk, generators, water, and clothing to coworkers, customers, and partners impacted by the storm.

"Our employees are the heart of our culture, and this recognition supports NetApp's continued efforts to sustain our values and foundation as a great place to work," said Bill Hogan, vice president and general manager, NetApp U.S. Enterprise, based in New York. "First and foremost, we offer our deepest condolences to anyone affected by the devastation Sandy inflicted. I couldn't be more proud of how NetApp employees responded to help those affected -- they didn't even think, they just reacted. This impactful response is a perfect example of NetApp's culture at work and clearly illustrates how inspired employees can do the extraordinary."

NetApp's New York City office first opened in 1997, and it is the headquarters for Americas sales operations. It includes the Global, Enterprise, Commercial, and Telecommunications business units. With approximately 130 full-time employees and 45 contractors, this office provides storage and data management solutions to various customer segments, including media and entertainment, enterprise, telecommunications, legal, healthcare, pharmaceutical, advertising, state and local government agencies, and K-12 and higher education.
