Emptoris Expands Global Operations and Sales Leadership

Supply and Contract Management Software Provider Adds Key Executives in Europe and Asia Pacific Region

BURLINGTON, MA--(Marketwire - September 5, 2007) - Emptoris, a leading provider of enterprise supply and contract management software, announced today the expansion of its global operations and sales team with key executive additions in Europe and the Asia Pacific Region.

In the European market, Emptoris announced it has appointed former Ariba executive Gerald Ismaier as General Manager for Central Europe. Ismaier joins Emptoris from Ariba, Inc., where he was the lead executive in charge of sales for the software company's products in key European markets. Ismaier has more than 18 years of experience in running sales organizations in Europe for software companies. At Emptoris, Ismaier will be charged with expanding the company's operations and sales in the Central European region, building upon the company's strong solution adoption in the European market.

In the Asian Pacific market, Emptoris announced it has appointed David Hudson as Vice President of Sales for the Asia Pacific and Japan Region. Hudson, who joins Emptoris from Computer Associates, is a seasoned sales executive with more than 20 years' experience including close to a decade in sales for software companies in the Asia Pacific and Japan Region.

Gerald Ismaier, General Manager, Central European Region

Gerald Ismaier, General Manager for Central Europe for Emptoris, joins the company from Ariba, where he served as Sales Manager for the German speaking markets for the past four years. Prior to Ariba, Ismaier held senior sales management positions with Healy Hudson, a major procurement solution provider in the German market, and IBM, in their Enterprise Systems Management division, Tivoli. Previously, Ismaier was in charge of building the European sales team for various companies, and at the beginning of his carrier he led the build-up of the European operation for Centera Technologies for more than seven years.

David Hudson, Vice President, Sales, Asia Pacific Region

David Hudson, Vice President, Sales for the Asia Pacific Region for Emptoris, joins the company from Computer Associates, where he served as Vice President of Sales for the Clarity Software product in the Asia Pacific Region. He had previously worked as Vice President of Sales, Asia Pacific for Niku, the Project Portfolio Management software company, which was acquired by Computer Associates. Previously, Hudson helped build the sales operations for Remedy, an IT Service Management software company, in the Japan and Asia Pacific Region, until the company was acquired by Peregrine Systems and Interactive Intelligence, a business communications software company.

Hudson has spent more than 20 years in senior sales positions at software and technology companies, and close to a decade in enterprise software sales in the Japan and Asia Pacific region. He and his wife Marie and their two children have lived in Singapore for the past nine years.
