Emptoris to Present on Contract Management and e-Sourcing at Economist Conference for Chief Procurement Officers in Italy

Contract Management and eSourcing Technology Sessions Feature Representatives From Cisco, GSK, Vodafone, IACCM and Emptoris

LONDON and BURLINGTON, MA--(Marketwire - June 9, 2008) - Emptoris, a leading provider of enterprise supply and contract management software, announced today that the company will be featured as a presenter on contract management and e-sourcing technologies during the Chief Procurement Officer Conference in Italy in June which is hosted by The Economist, a leading international business and political news and analysis publication. Representatives from Cisco, GSK, Vodafone and The International Association of Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM) will be presenting alongside Emptoris at the event.

The Chief Procurement Officer Summit, hosted by The Economist, is the premier supply management conference in Southern Europe and focuses on the application of "innovative technologies and strategies to reduce purchasing costs, improve processes and add value." The event will be held at the Westin Palace in Milan, Italy from June 12th - 13th, 2008.

In the fist session, Lorenzo Laurelli, Consulting Services Director in Europe for Emptoris; Gianmaria Riccardi, Vice Chair, Europe for IACCM; and the Commercial Business Director for Europe for Cisco Systems will present at the conference in a session focusing on "Management of Supplier Contracts." The session will examine the application and advantages of contract management technology in:

--  Improving procurement process governance
--  Increasing the use of preferred suppliers
--  Improving the interface between the procurement and legal groups
--  Reducing costs and increasing supplier compliance and quality
    

In the second session, Laurelli of Emptoris will be presenting along with Daniele Calciolari, Sourcing Group Manager at GSK; and Nicola Onofri, e-Sourcing Manager with Vodafone on "e-Sourcing Best Practices." The session will cover the advantages and disadvantages of reverse auctions for direct, indirect and services procurement, as well as examining the future of e-sourcing and the latest innovations in sourcing technologies.
