EMT Offers On-Site X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) Testing

MORTON GROVE, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 30, 2006 -- In addition to the standard destructive laboratory testing procedures provided for analysis of electronic and electrical equipment, Environmental Monitoring and Technologies, Inc. (EMT) is now offering on-site x-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometric analysis as another tool for compliance testing. XRF is recognized as an effective screening test method for the hazardous substances restricted under the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive. With the RoHS effective date of July 1, 2006 right around the corner, electronic and electrical equipment producers are scrambling to determine their compliance status. EMT's on-site XRF testing can be a quick, effective way to build "due diligence" documentation.

The many benefits of on-site XRF testing include same-day results, the ability to evaluate products that may be prohibitive to ship for testing due to size or product confidentiality, and a non-destructive testing approach that is recognized by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
