Enablence Expands its Industry Leading MAGNM Product Line With the MAGNM-10 Chassis

OTTAWA, CANADA--(Marketwire - March 17, 2009) - Enablence Technologies Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ENA) ("Enablence"), a global leader in optical communications which provides Planar Lightwave Circuit (PLC) based products for Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH), metro and long haul markets, is pleased to announce that its MAGNM-10, an Enablence-Pannaway product, a 10 slot version of its Multimedia Aggregation Node platform, is now available.

In response to the success of the Pannaway MAGNM-20 chassis, Enablence has begun shipping a new, more compact version of the MAGNM platform. The MAGNM-10 is based on the same industry leading, ultra-high capacity architecture as its 'big brother' the MAGNM-20. Featuring a high performance integrated Ethernet backplane, the MAGNM-10 provides over 400Gbps of non-blocking backplane capacity in a package that requires only 7 rack units of mounting space.

The native Ethernet packet backplane provides service providers with a platform that supports GPON, active point-to-point, ADSL2+ and POTS access technologies today and can support emerging technologies such as 10Gpbs GPON and VDSL2 in the future. The MAGNM platform provides flexible upgradeable transport options for trunked 1Gbps and 10Gbps transport today and scales to support 40 and 100Gbps Ethernet transport for future applications.

"With the introduction of the MAGNM-10 we have greatly expanded the deployment options for the MAGNM platform. This new chassis expands the appeal of the MAGNM's industry leading, all IP/Ethernet architecture to a wider set of Telco's" said Arvind Chhatbar CEO of Enablence. "The delivery of the MAGNM-10 positions us to expand the deployment options for the MAGNM to include not only high density central offices but remote terminal cabinets. This addition to our award winning product lineup further validates why we merged Pannaway's operation with our Systems Division in November 2008" continued Mr. Chhatbar.

About the MAGNM-10

The MAGNM-10 is a strong compliment to Enablence's industry leading FTTx product portfolio. Designed to exceed all relevant industry specifications, the MAGNM-10 is equally at home in a central office or a remote terminal location. The MAGNM-10 utilizes the same award winning feature rich and proven software found on Enablence's other Pannaway products including the Broadband Access Switch (BAS), the Broadband Aggregation Router (BAR) and the MAGNM-20.
