Enablence Supports FTTx Network for Business in Honduras

Grupo Cable Sula leads its peers with new broadband services

OTTAWA, CANADA--(Marketwire - Feb. 11, 2010) - – Enablence Technologies Inc. ("Enablence" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:ENA), a leading supplier of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) equipment for triple-play residential and business services and optical components and subsystems for access, metro and long-haul markets, is helping Grupo Cable Sula of Honduras maintain its leadership position in the Central American region with a new fiber-based broadband network for its business customers.

Grupo Cable Sula is the second-largest cable operator in Honduras, providing services to cable subscribers and Internet and telephone users in the city of San Pedro Sula. In 2000, it expanded its services into the telecommunications market to deliver Internet, data, telephone and CATV.

Already a user of Enablence's TRIDENT7 Compact OLT (COLT), Grupo Cable Sula once again turned to Enablence when it came time to expand its offering to business customers with next-generation broadband services. Under the name FiberLink Pymes, Grupo Cable Sula is rolling out to small- and medium-sized businesses new value added service packages at an aggressive price, which will include Internet at speeds of up to 10 mbps, two dedicated phone lines, optional analog or digital TV service and a corporate data link at speeds of up to 100 mbps. To support this deployment, Grupo Cable Sula purchased Enablence's flagship TRIDENT7 Universal Access Platform, Optical Line Terminal, Optical Networking Terminals and the Element Management Suite. Cable Sula plans to serve more than 5,000 business customers over the next two to three years on this fiber-to-the-business network.

"Our business customers needed high-bandwidth Internet and data services at a reasonable cost," said Jorge Canahuati Hoch, CEO of Grupo Cable Sula. "Only Enablence's proven FTTx platform provided the right combination of features and affordability to deliver what our customers require. The TRIDENT7 has allowed us to leap past our competitors and capture an untapped market opportunity with a fiber network that is far more secure, reliable and faster than cable modem, DSL or wireless. Deploying this kind of network gives us a leadership position in the Central American telecommunications industry."

"The Central and South American regions are key growth areas for Enablence going forward," said Tim Thorsteinson, president and COO of Enablence. "Repeat business from existing customers such as Grupo Cable Sula demonstrates how ideally suited we are to meet the unique needs of this burgeoning market."
