Enablence Technologies Selected for 2008 TSX Venture 50, a Ranking of the Top TSX Venture Companies

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 19, 2008) - Enablence Technologies Inc. ("Enablence" or the "Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:ENA) today announced that it was selected as one of the top 50 TSX Venture companies and one of the top 10 among the TSX Venture technology and life sciences companies.

The TSX Venture 50 are the top 10 companies in each of five major industry sectors - mining, oil & gas, technology & life sciences, diversified industries and cleantech - based on a ranking formula with equal weighting given to one-year revenue (last reported 12 months), return on investment, market cap growth and trading volume. All data was as of December 31, 2007. For those that are interested in how the ranking was compiled, the ranking methodology is available on the TSX website.

Given that there are over 2,300 companies listed on the TSX Venture today with 217 technology companies, this recognition from the TSX Venture is a significant milestone for Enablence's evolution as an integrated player in the industry. "We are very proud to announce the 2008 TSX Venture 50 to celebrate the achievement of our issuers," said Kevan Cowan, President, TSX Venture Exchange.

"This award is an important recognition of Enablence and its growth strategy" said Arvind Chhatbar, CEO. Over the past several years Enablence has built its strength through both organic growth and a series of strategic acquisitions. Today, Enablence is a vertically integrated company focused on delivering advanced photonic components and entire network systems for fibre-to-the-home (FTTH). The company has two divisions - the Optical Components and Subsystems Division and the FTTx Networks Division.

The Optical Components and Subsystems Division is leveraging on Enablence's proprietary Planar Lightwave Circuit (PLC) technology by integrating active and passive optical components into sophisticated optical chips. These chips form a wide portfolio of products, including optical transceivers, for the access, metro and long haul telecommunications markets.

In May 2008, Enablence completed the acquisition of Wave7 Optics, a developer and manufacturer of state of the art Optical Line Terminals (OLT) which are used as central office equipment and Optical Network Terminals (ONTs) which are used as customer premise equipment in deploying fiber-to-the-home (FTTH). Every home connected with fiber-optic service requires an Optical Network Terminal with an optical transceiver as its core subcomponent. This group forms Enablence's FTTx Networks Division and serves communications service providers globally for the Fiber-to-the-Home roll-out. With over 120 customers, Enablence's FTTx Network Division is now a leading market player globally.

"Our two divisions have significant synergies and experience in manufacturing components and subsystems. We now have full visibility of the end customers' needs. This visibility will enable us to further enhance strategic innovations using Planar Waveguide Circuits (PLCs) across the entire fiber-optic network at the component, subsystem and systems level. PLC technology allows us to integrate a number of components into one optical chip product, reducing the size and cost and achieving volume production" added Arvind Chhatbar.
