Enablence's Kevin Bourg Elected to the FTTH Council Board

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 8, 2010) - Enablence Technologies Inc. ("Enablence" or the "Company")(TSX VENTURE:ENA), a leading supplier of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) equipment for triple-play residential and business services and optical components and subsystems for access, metro and long-haul markets, continues to play a lead role in the development of the North American FTTx industry with the recent election of Kevin Bourg to The Fiber-to-the-Home Council's Board of Directors for 2011.

The FTTH Council is a non-profit organization of 250 companies and organizations dedicated to expanding the deployment of all-fiber networks. At the Council's quarterly members meeting held recently in Phoenix, Bourg, Enablence's VP of International Sales Engineering, was elected to the board for a two-year term.

Wave7 Optics, acquired by Enablence in 2008, was a founding member of the FTTH Council. Enablence's Jim Farmer, Chief Technology Officer, and Emmanuel Vella, VP and GM of International Sales, have also served on the Council's Board of Directors.

Bourg has been engaged with the FTTx market since the inception of Wave7 Optics in September 2000. He has been active with the Council for the past five years, serving as the technology lead for the Fiber Zone exhibition for the annual Conference & Expo, as a member of the planning committee, and as a member of the review committee for paper submissions. Bourg, who has more than 15 years of telecommunications experience, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, and a Master of Science in System Engineering from Southern Methodist University.
