Enclarity Recognized for Safeguarding Data

Leading Healthcare Information Solutions Company Achieves Compliance Assurance for HIPAA Security Regulations as Well as NIST and SSAE 16

ALISO VIEJO, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 4, 2012) - Enclarity, Inc., a leading healthcare information solutions company, has again been recognized for taking appropriate steps to safeguard data confidentiality by two highly regarded compliance agencies. For the fourth straight year, Enclarity has been certified as compliant with the HIPAA Security Rule. Enclarity also completed successfully an information technology security risk examination review, led by Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), to confirm compliance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) regulations.

"Data is the lifeblood of healthcare information, and we are hypervigilant about protecting it, as confirmed by these designations," said Sean Downs, chief executive officer, Enclarity. "Our HIPAA Security Rule and NIST compliance assurances reinforce our position of providing the highest integrity data that meets established standards of quality. Enclarity provides valuable data service assets to healthcare leaders, including healthcare payers, pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers."

The CISM and CISA examination determined Enclarity's IT administrative, physical and technical security safeguards are satisfactory. Their review concluded that Enclarity demonstrated reasonable assurance of data confidentiality, integrity and availability as defined in NIST Special Publication 800-53A under "Recommended Security Controls for Federal Information Systems and Organizations." NIST develops and issues standards, guidelines and other publications to assist federal agencies in implementing the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 (FISMA) and managing cost-effective programs to protect their information and information systems.

In addition, Enclarity's data center recently passed its annual SSAE 16 audit. This audit supersedes the existing SAS70 guidelines and is recognized as the authoritative benchmark of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) against which service providers report control activities and processes to customers and their auditors.

Enclarity offers its healthcare provider demographic data solutions via hosted ASP and SaaS methods. Assuring that the company's IT and data protection practices comply with the stringent HIPAA, NIST and AICPA standards is among Enclarity's highest priorities.
