Energistics Elects Aashish Bansal of Infosys to Its Board of Directors


HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - Sep 5, 2012) - Energistics, the upstream oil and gas standards consortium, announced today that Mr. Aashish Bansal, Vice President, Energy and Utilities, Infosys has been elected to its Board of Directors replacing Mr. Prasad Thrikutam also from Infosys. With more than 23 years in the energy industry, Mr. Bansal brings a rich diversity of experience to the Energistics Board with varied experiences across oilfield operations, investment banking, finance and strategy, as well as in software technology and systems integration.

On his election as a Board Member of Energistics, Mr. Bansal said, "It is an honor to be appointed to the Energistics board, an organization that is doing significant work to improve data standards for Exploration & Production. Mr. Bansal joined Infosys in 2000 to incubate the company's energy practice in the United States. Today, he heads up Infosys' global energy practice, and also serves on the company's risk management and policy councils. Prior to joining Infosys, Mr. Bansal led the energy practice for the Indian division of a global investment bank. He spent a few years in the middle-east as a field engineer with a leading oilfield services major. Mr. Bansal has a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi and an MBA in Finance from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
