Energy Metals Corporation: Sheriff Appointed to the
Board of Directors, Hamrick Joins Staff

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - March 4, 2005) - Energy
Metals Corporation (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:EMC) announces that
William M. Sheriff, President of the Company's wholly-owned subsidiary,
Energy Metals Corporation (US), has been appointed to the board of
directors of the Company.

Mr. Sheriff of Dallas, Texas is known to be one of the leading prospect
developers in the Western United States having generated numerous
exploration projects to many major mining companies including Newmont,
Anglo, Uranerz, Atlas, Cordex, Homestake, FMC and others. He began his
career with Cyprus Minerals-AMOCO in 1980 working on molybdenum deposits
in Montana. From 1981 to 1984 as Research Geologist for Amselco
Exploration, he was responsible for prospect generation for the
southwest USA. From 1985 to present, he was founder and President of
Platoro West Incorporated, a minerals exploration firm specializing in
project identification and acquisition throughout the western USA.
Platoro West has exclusive access to proprietary databases from Union
Carbide and US Smelting's worldwide exploration programs along with
uranium exploration databases from UV Industries, Ranchers Exploration
and Hecla Mining. From 2002 until present, Mr. Sheriff has served as the
President of Pacific Intermountain Gold Corporation (PIGCO), a private
corporation owned by Seabridge Gold Corporation. PIGCO holds over 30
advanced gold exploration projects throughout Nevada. Mr. Sheriff
received his BSc in Geology from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado
and conducted graduate studies at the University of Texas-El Paso in
Mining Geology and Mineral Economics.

Karen Liu, who resigned as director of the Company to facilitate Mr.
Sheriff's appointment, will continue to serve as Corporate Secretary.

John Hamrick of Grand Junction, Colorado has joined the staff of the
Company as the Manager of Technical and Regulatory Affairs. Mr. Hamrick
has a B.Sc. in Extractive Metallurgy and over 20 years of experience in
the uranium industry including specific expertise in environmental
issues, operational safety, permitting, regulatory compliance, tailings
construction and process improvements in copper, uranium and tungsten
milling facilities. Prior to joining Union Carbide (UMETCO) in 1984, he
had worked in the copper industry for Magma Copper.

The Company is also pleased to announce the execution of a Memorandum of
Understanding with Quincy Gold Corporation. The MOU evidences the
co-operation, personnel sharing and non-competition arrangement entered
into between the two companies.

Energy Metals Corporation is a Canadian listed company involved in
developing resources to power the 21st century. EMC has adopted a
corporate strategy, which will focus on the acquisition and development
of uranium assets in politically favorable and mining-friendly
jurisdictions within the United States as part of its long-term strategy
to take advantage of growth in the U.S. and worldwide electrical energy
demand. This increasing demand is occurring at a time when uranium mine
supplies are dwindling and inventories are being depleted.

The Company is targeting advanced projects in Wyoming that are amenable
to "in situ leach" (ISL). ISL or "in situ leach" mining was pioneered in
Wyoming using water wells and oxygen fortified groundwater to mine the
uranium in place. It is the safest, and most environmental friendly,
uranium mining method in the world. Conventional and ISL opportunities
in Utah and other states are also being actively advanced.
