EnergySolutions Receives Prestigious United Kingdom Safety Award

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - May 19, 2008) - EnergySolutions, Inc.'s (NYSE : ES ) U.K.
subsidiary, Magnox Electric, LLC, has been awarded the 2008 Royalty Society
for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Engineering Construction Sector
Award. This is the second year in a row the company has won this honor
recognizing performance across the ten Magnox Reactor sites in the United
Kingdom.
RoSPA presents the award for the most outstanding performance in health and
safety by an organization within a particular sector. Steve Creamer, CEO
and Chairman of EnergySolutions, accepted the award on behalf of the nearly
4,000 Magnox Electric employees who made this honor possible.

In order to qualify for the RoSPA award, EnergySolutions had to demonstrate
a robust and high quality safety management system with four years of
consistently executing or continuously improving health and safety
performance.
