EnergySolutions Wins U.S. Department of Energy $19.2M Remediation Contract


SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - June 23, 2009) - EnergySolutions, Inc. (NYSE: ES) announced today it has been awarded a $19.2 million contract from the URS Corporation to cleanup the U.S. Department of Energy Separation Process Research Unit (SPRU) test facility in upstate New York.

EnergySolutions is teaming with the URS Corporation to perform the work at the facility in Schenectady, New York. The scope of work includes characterization, packaging, loading, transporting (rail), treatment and disposal of soil, debris and mixed waste.

Timeframe for the project is estimated at 24 months and will begin immediately.
