AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwired - Sep 4, 2013) - InQuinox announces the 4.0 release of SanXfer. This release incorporates additional customer and partner-driven requirements to support automated operations, block-based disk migrations and VMware 5.x environments.
This new automated functionality includes an API (Application Program Interface) to the Library Server, a CLI scripting capability, support for hands-free operations and the ability to create boot ISO images in the field.
"While SanXfer's interactive approach to server migration remains the most reliable, quickest and easiest to use, these automated enhancements have further distanced SanXfer from our competitors," stated company CEO Brad Hargett. "Further, neither PlateSpin Migrate nor Double-Take Move can match the innovative way in which SanXfer simplifies the server and data migration process."
With the ability to create boot ISOs in the field, SanXfer has again distanced itself from its competitors who require that their technical specialists get involved in the mundane and time-consuming task of creating boot ISOs, which can add many days, weeks, even months to the migration process.
When migrating data from one platform to another (whether heterogeneous or homogeneous, iSCSI or Fibre Channel), SanXfer's Data TranXfer feature now provides the ability to bypass file system overhead and perform block-based (raw) disk migrations.
"Through this new approach, customers with millions of files within a single file system can migrate their data in a fraction of the time it would normally take," commented Mitchell Mikula, VP Software Engineering.
Another significant enhancement to SanXfer 4.0 is the support and validation of VMware 5 environments. Now, SanXfer ensures that customers who wish to migrate to or from VMware 5 can do so in a simple, speedy and straight-forward manner.
SanXfer provides the strongest server migration utility to support P2P, P2V, V2P, local-to-SAN booting, FC booting, iSCSI booting, and VM support (VMware, Hyper-V, and Xen). With SanXfer's Data TranXfer option, there is the added benefit of heterogeneous data transfer support.
InQuinox has validated that SanXfer supports all major hardware manufacturers.
InQuinox created SanXfer to dramatically reduce the damage created by error-prone, manual methods for server migration and shorten the time required for migrations through a more intelligent approach.
