Government of Canada announces financial support for the Coup de cœur francophone festival


MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 1, 2014) - Canadian Heritage

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, announced today that $460,000 ($230,000 in 2014-2015 and $230,000 in 2015-2016) has been provided in support of the 28th and 29th editions of the Coup de cœur francophone festival.

Coup de cœur francophone is a travelling festival dedicated to promoting and distributing Francophone music. It has been presented each year in Montréal since 1987 and is now in more than 40 cities across the country. This year, the festival will be held from November 6 to 16, 2014.

The Government of Canada provided this funding through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund of Canadian Heritage. The objective of the Fund is to give Canadians access to a variety of professional artistic experiences in their communities.
