Enphase S-Series Microinverters and AC Battery Receive Certification to Updated Australian and New Zealand Grid Standard

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA--(Marketwired - September 12, 2016) - Enphase Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: ENPH), a global energy technology company, today announced that its smart grid ready S-Series Microinverters and AC Battery have been certified as compliant to the AS/NZS 4777.2:2015 grid connection standard.

The Enphase S-Series Microinverter and Enphase AC Battery are fully compliant to AS/NZS 4777.2:2015 when installed with the new Envoy-S Metered +DRM Communication Gateway, which is available now through authorised distributors.* These products have also been listed as approved equipment by the Clean Energy Council in Australia. Enphase is the only microinverter manufacturer that has achieved this certification to date.

AS/NZS 4777.2:2015 replaces AS/NZS 4777.2:2005 and AS/NZS 4777.3:2005, which expire on October 9, 2016. The new standard provides a framework for advanced grid functions and demand response features that enable intelligent distributed energy resources such as the Enphase S-Series Microinverter and AC Battery to contribute to the smooth functioning of the electrical grid and allow greater adoption of renewable resources.

The new standard will be required throughout Australia on October 9, and will be required in New Zealand once regulations are updated to cite the new standard. After October 9, authorities may require new installations or upgrades to existing grid-connected PV and battery storage installations to use inverters that are certified to meet the new standard.

"This certification is the result of a long-term collaborative effort from our technical teams who have worked tirelessly to ensure our systems meet these new requirements ahead of the deadline," said Nathan Dunn, managing director of Enphase Asia-Pacific. "This concerted effort underscores our ongoing investment in the Australian and New Zealand markets, in which we continue to see tremendous future growth opportunities for innovative products like the Enphase Home Energy Solution."

As the global leader in microinverters with more than 12 million shipped to date, Enphase is now establishing itself as a pioneer in AC storage technology. The Company's Australian and New Zealand distribution partners have provided volume projections totalling 70,000 batteries in Australia and New Zealand over the next 12 months.
