Entagen Named Finalist in MassTLC Leadership Awards

TripleMap Platform Contends for Innovative Technology of the Year

NEWBURYPORT, MA--(Marketwire - Aug 14, 2012) - Entagen, a fast-growing software company providing Big Data analytics and collaboration solutions across the enterprise, announced today that it has been named a finalist in the Mass Technology Leadership Council (MassTLC) 2012 Technology Leadership Awards. Entagen was named a finalist in the Innovative Technology of the Year: Big Data category. The MassTLC Awards celebrate the top people and companies in technology.

Entagen is being recognized for its TripleMap platform, which helps companies identify opportunities sooner by connecting data from a variety of sources. Users search through and analyze the entities and associations between entities in TripleMap's high-performance Semantic Data Core, which aggregates structured data and continuously scans both internal and external data sources. Users share this information visually by creating knowledge maps that show associations between entities. TripleMap can be securely deployed within an organization's firewall or hosted in the cloud.

A study by IBM shows that we create 2.5 quintillion bytes of data every day, which means that 90 percent of the data in the world has been created in the past two years alone. While that number may seem daunting, the amount of data that is readily accessible provides opportunities for companies to learn more about their data. For example, TripleMap can be used by a retail company to help identify patterns based on items and accessories that shoppers buy; it can help pharmaceutical companies in their research and development efforts by identifying unexpected associations and novel patterns; it can help healthcare organizations identify specific patient cohorts, detect fraud and analyze trends.

"This is an exciting time in technology, especially in Big Data, and we are thrilled to be recognized by MassTLC among the top tech firms in the state," said Christopher Bouton, CEO of Entagen. "We have continued to grow our business in the life sciences industry, and we look forward to expanding into other industries where TripleMap can help businesses recognize opportunities sooner by making connections between the enormous amounts of data available to them."

MassTLC Awards finalists were selected out of more than 200 submissions by 55 executives, investors, analysts, media and thought leaders. MassTLC will name the winners on Thursday, September 13 at the MassTLC Leadership Awards Gala at the Boston Renaissance Waterfront Hotel in Boston.
