Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners Learn Publicity and Success Tips at PR Expert Lisa Elia's Meet the Media Day 2011

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 5, 2011) - With the prevalence of company layoffs, many people are starting their own businesses and, especially in our current economic situation, need more guidance than ever to not only stay afloat, but to and thrive. Lisa Elia, CEO and founder of the Los Angeles-based firm, Lisa Elia Public Relations, is holding her second annual Meet the Media Day, taking place on Saturday, October 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the Fairmont Miramar, located at 101 Wilshire Boulevard, Santa Monica, Calif. Elia will gather 300 entrepreneurs, 12 members of the media and special guest speakers for a day of business building and publicity strategies and connections meant to help small businesses and entrepreneurs to prosper. Business programs and prizes will be given out throughout the day.

At this information-packed event, PR expert Lisa Elia will interview on stage 12 media pros and will share her step-by-step publicity system she's used to book clients with NBC, The Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN, the New York Times, People, Redbook and hundreds of other outlets.

"After more than 20 years of working with entrepreneurs, small businesses and some very large companies, what I've observed is that the primary blocks to business success are lack of knowledge, lack of confidence and lack of action," says Elia. "When it comes to public relations, what I see is that there's a great lack of focus, lack of clarity and lack of preparation among many entrepreneurs. I created Meet the Media Day to provide the insight, information and tools that will help businesses succeed and take advantage of the opportunities that good publicity, done well, can create."

Business and mindset coach, David Neagle, will be a guest speaker at the event, providing entrepreneurs with information and tools they need in order to succeed in their businesses. "Teaching entrepreneurs how to build multimillion dollar businesses is what I'm known for... but it's truly NOT what matters," says Neagle. "What matters is what my clients and I actually 'DO' with the millions we make." Neagle and Elia donate portions of proceeds from events they host to non-profit organizations. 5% of ticket purchases for Meet the Media Day will be donated to the YWCA Santa Monica/Westside for their empowering and commendable work with women and girls, including girls who have come through the foster system.
