Entretec Calls for Applicants for Third Annual Entrepreneurship Award

Applications Accepted Through January 10, 2006

PASADENA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 26, 2005 -- Entretec (www.pasadenaentretec.com), the leading strategic partnering and entrepreneurial business support association serving the Los Angeles region, announced today a call for applicants for its Third Annual Entrepreneurship Award 2006. The deadline for application submissions is January 10, 2006.

The purpose of the award is to honor growing, leading edge companies symbolizing the best in entrepreneurial spirit and skills in the Los Angeles region. It also acknowledges the growing importance of the advanced technology industry and its contribution to the economic wealth of the Los Angeles basin.

"There are well over 1,000 venture-backed emerging tech companies in Los Angeles, and many more large corporations involved in advanced-tech across all business sectors," said Stephanie Yanchinski, Executive Director of Entretec. "Entretec wishes to celebrate the entrepreneurial vigor and business achievements of these companies through our Entrepreneurship Awards program."

Past Entrepreneurship Award winners include Evolution Robotics, recipient of several previous honors for achievements in innovation, and Guidance Software, recently listed as one of Los Angeles' fastest growing technology companies by the prestigious Deloitte & Touche Fast 50 Program 2005.

"The annual Entrepreneur Awards program has attracted many significant technology companies and interest within the VC community since its inception two years ago," said Louise Wannier, chairman of the Entrepreneurship Award committee. "It's exciting to see the tremendous growth of these strong young companies and the emergence of several high-tech clusters throughout Los Angeles working together to strengthen the overall region."

Application Process

Applicants must be technology-based companies, owning and developing proprietary technology. Applicable technology sectors include: the Life Sciences, Information Technology/Internet, Aerospace/Defense, Industrial Engineering, Energy/Environment, among others. Self-nominations or third party proposals are welcome.

The award will be presented to the company that best meets two overall criteria: Realizable Market Potential -- evidence of customer/market acceptance of products/services; and Ability to Execute -- evidence of achieving milestones, overcoming obstacles, and having a focus.

An Entrepreneurship Award review board will select finalists by the end of February 2006, with a winner being announced at the Entrepreneurship Awards dinner in March 2006. Award finalists will have the opportunity to present their company at a "Hot Companies" breakfast before potential investors, partners, business leaders and peers. In addition, finalists will be included in all press/marketing materials and potential media coverage.

Applications can be obtained from Stephanie Yanchinski, Executive Director of Entretec, by calling 626/356-9933, or by emailing, scy@pasadenaentretec.com. Completed forms may be e-mailed to Ms. Yanchinski or faxed to 626/356-7515 by January 10, 2006.
