ENVIRON Attracts Key Consultants to Climate Change & Sustainability Practice

Steve Messner joins ENVIRON as a Principal in the Novato, California, office. Steve has 30 years of professional experience in the areas of climate change, greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting and analysis, energy, and transportation and is a well-known figure in the field of GHG accounting, carbon capture and storage, GHG offset methodology development and climate change adaptation planning. He has led GHG inventory, reduction strategy and opportunity analysis studies for many private-sector clients, including national banks, local governments, automotive manufacturers, and energy, metal and petroleum companies. Steve has written and/or contributed to many of the GHG offset methodologies in place in the United States for EPA Climate Leaders and the Climate Action Reserve on topics including co-digestion of organic wastes, composting, manure management, end uses of landfill gas and agricultural digester gas, commercial and industrial boilers, coal mine methane recovery and sulfur hexafluoride emissions from power industry equipment. Steve also managed a climate change consultancy in the UK and Poland and served as the UK Department of Trade and Industry's expert on project methodologies for the development of the ISO 14064 standards for GHG emissions reporting.
