Environmental Solutions Worldwide, Inc.: Demonstration Launched for ESW's XTRM Cat'TM' Diesel Locomotive Catalyst System

CONCORD, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 29, 2005) - Environmental Solutions Worldwide, Inc. (ESW) (OTCBB:ESWW) announced today that its subsidiary ESW America, Inc (ESWA) has received its first Purchase Order (PO) to supply it's diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) branded as the XTRM Cat™ series to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) for demonstration in a diesel powered commuter rail locomotive.

The installation calls for the installation of 16 XTRM Cat™ catalysts into a GM EMD 645E3, 16 cylinder two-stroke diesel locomotive engine being used in a commuter rail application. MJ Bradley & Associates, Inc. (MJBA), a US based emission consulting firm will be working with ESW, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and MBTA to manage the technical demonstration aspects of the project. MJ Bradley will also be involved with the coordination of the emissions testing that will be conducted by the Emissions Research and Measurement Division (ERMD) of Environment Canada. The testing is being done to confirm the real world reductions obtained with the XTRM Cat™.

As reported in a prior press release, ESW catalyst engineers devised a new and innovative catalyst configuration based on the Company's California Air Resources Board (CARB) Level II verified proprietary catalyzed metallic substrate. This new catalyst design was introduced into a year long test and evaluation program at an internationally recognized emission testing facility located in the United States. During this evaluation program, the XTRM Cat™ first demonstrated its ability to reduce Particulate Matter (PM), Hydrocarbons (HC) and Carbon Dioxide (CO) within the extreme operating conditions of the locomotive diesel engine exhaust.

Locomotive engines typically exhibit relatively high PM emissions output. This demonstration program focuses on implementing low sulfur distillate fuel along with a catalytic solution to dramatically reduce PM emission levels. Due to the two stroke engine design and high lubrication oil consumption, these engines are extremely difficult to apply a catalyst as they are very susceptible PM accumulation and face plugging. In addition any changes in exhaust backpressure created by exhaust after treatment device can result in the engine producing additional PM. The flexible characteristics of the Company's metallic substrate allowed ESWA engineers to compensate for this extreme application.

The ESW XTRM Cat™ locomotive oxidation catalyst is a passive system that does not rely on complicated electronics, heated elements or fuel additives to reduce PM emissions. The oxidation catalyst placement, located in close proximity to the combustion chamber, achieves emissions reductions through the proficient utilization of available heat and exhaust pressure created by the two-stroke operating cycle. The ESW locomotive catalyst is a "one cylinder, one catalyst" system designed to operate reliably without the need for routine maintenance or extensive installation downtime.

A vast majority of approximately 20,000 operating locomotive engines were manufactured between 1973 and 2001 predating environmental rules. Moving forward, these locomotive engines will be retrofit to Tier Zero emission standards under the promulgated EPA locomotive emission standards. Cleaner fuels and viable oxidation catalysts such as the XTRM Cat™ have the potential to achieve substantial PM emission reductions beyond the Tier zero standards.

Mr. David Johnson, ESW's President and CEO commented, "It's exciting to be launching a new product line with the potential for such a significant and lucrative market opportunity. Diesel locomotives are an essential mode of transportation for moving industry, freight, consumer products and people in virtually every country around the world. We believe the success of this application will have the potential to carry over into product sales worldwide as other countries move to reduce emissions from their locomotive and marine engine populations. The diesel engine powered locomotive emissions reductions program represents just one example one of many market sectors ESW is working in."

About the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA)

Since the earliest days of the environmental movement, Americans have considered public transit to be a major component of our plans to create a cleaner and healthier planet. The MBTA protects our natural resources by providing an alternative to the automobile for over one million people each day. Among the many strategic initiatives to improve environmental performance, one of the highest priorities is to enhance the bus system to provide not just high quality bus service, but also a cleaner bus fleet. In addition, the MBTA is working collaboratively with EPA through its grant program in a first in the nation pilot project to evaluate and develop a strategic model for locomotive engine pollution control devices which will reduce emissions from our trains.
