Envisioning Sustainable Cities & Towns in Ontario

Frank de Jong, Leader of the Green Party of Ontario, will release a white paper tomorrow

Wednesday, November 1st, 3 p.m. at 211 Dundas Street, London, Ontario.

Frank de Jong, Leader of the Green Party of Ontario, and Brett McKenzie, GPO Municipal Affairs Issue Advocate, will release a white paper titled,

ENVISIONING SUSTAINABLE CITIES & TOWNS IN ONTARIO.

Climate change, peak oil and smog are critical threats to the quality of life of Ontario residents.
In response, the GPO is proposing innovative, realistic and fair solutions to:

- help municipalities become sustainable;
- redesign sprawl into walkable communities;
- design transportation beyond auto-dependence;
- address garbage production;
- address homelessness without government subsidies; and
- democratize our electoral system.

This is the first in a series of white papers the GPO will develop in the months leading up to next year's Provincial Election.
