Envista Announces Latest Release of Its Map-Based Coordination Software Packed With New Products and Features

Envista Release R2 2010 Incorporates Many Smart New Capabilities That Help Users Save More Time and Money

BEVERLY, MA--(Marketwire - January 10, 2011) - Envista Corporation, the world's leading provider of map-based coordination for smarter, safer streets, today announced the release of Envista R2 2010, which includes powerful new products and features that will help all organizations with a vested interest in the public right-of-way to communicate and coordinate more efficiently and effectively. This latest release extends and enhances Envista's suite of map-based coordination solutions, Smarter Streets, a software-as-a-service offering that enables proactive management of utility projects, public works, permitting, incidents, traffic, and events to optimize street performance, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact.

This latest release of Envista's innovative Smarter Streets solution suite incorporates three new products developed in response to customer input, as well as five new PRIMARY OR SIGNIFICANT features that enhance the functionality of all solutions in the Envista portfolio. New products include:

  • Workflow Management to manage, route, and approve permit applications for infrastructure projects, street events, street incidents and more, all through the Envista map-based environment,
  • Attachment Management, enabling users to upload, store, and view important project- and/or permit-related documents that can be downloaded and viewed, without additional plug-ins or special programs, all through Envista, and
  • Public View - Web Services -- Using an API based on RESTful Web Services, create new ways of exchanging Envista data with public websites or internal data systems.

New features now available in Envista R2 2010 include:

  • Import Manager, which makes it fast and easy to upload existing data files (such as Microsoft® Excel® XLS or GIS shapefiles) and visually map customer data attributes to Envista attributes,
  • Export Manager for selecting and exporting Envista data and saving the export selections as templates to use with future exports,
  • Advanced Search to quickly find specific information within the Envista map-based environment across a large number of Envista attributes,
  • Intermediate Route Points, allowing users to add more points between the standard route points, and
  • Custom Attributes, enabling customers to define an unlimited number of custom attributes for Project Coordination, Street Events, Street Incidents, or Permit Management.

Any of the new products included in Envista R2 2010 can be added to existing Smarter Streets subscriptions, purchased individually, or bundled to meet the specific needs of a particular entity. The new features included in this release are now part of all Smarter Streets solutions at no additional charge. Envista Release R2 2010 is available immediately for download by logging into the Customer Center at www.envista.com.
