E.ON Delighted to Scoop Digital Impact Award for CR Website

COVENTRY, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Sept. 22, 2010) - Leading energy company E.ON has scooped a top digital award in recognition of its use of social media for issue tracking on its Corporate Responsibility website.

The Issues Tracker, which was developed by Salterbaxter, keeps tabs on some of the latest conversations on the web (including YouTube, Twitter and Facebook), ranging from fuel poverty to energy efficiency. The aim is to help E.ON understand which issues are important to our stakeholders and shows that we are listening to what they have to say.

Vicky Bullivant, Head of Corporate Responsibility at E.ON, said: "We're absolutely delighted to have been recognised in this way, especially as we completely redesigned the site so recently.

"The Issues Tracker, as well as showing issues in a straightforward way, ensures that we're keeping pace with the constantly evolving world of big and small energy, and are reacting to our stakeholders and customers needs.

"The site itself hopefully serves to show our customers – and all our stakeholders – how seriously we take our responsibilities and demonstrate our sustainable approach to doing business."

The award was in the Social Media category - Best use of existing social media tools/sites - with E.ON beating off competition from Centrica and the BBC to win.

The Digital Impact Awards are a new programme of awards which recognise excellence in digital stakeholder communications. They are a platform to discuss digital communications and online reputation and brand management.
