EPL Talk Web Site Launches New Features for English Premier League Soccer Fans

South Florida Company Brings Soccer Fans Together Online From Around the World to Celebrate the World's Most Popular Sports League

LAKE WORTH, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 10, 2006 -- EPL Talk (, the leading soccer web site outside the United Kingdom for coverage of the English Premiership, today announced several new activities leading up to the start of the 2006/2007 English Premier League (EPL) soccer season, just 41 days away.

During July and August, EPL Talk will feature weekly interviews with leading soccer celebrities, daily blog updates counting down to the August 19th season kick-off, the release of the next issue of the EPL Talk Magazine, weekly contests and more.

"Now that the month-long 2006 FIFA World CupTM has concluded, soccer fans throughout North America can recover from World Cup withdrawal with EPL Talk," said Christopher Harris, EPL Talk president. "The interactive web site provides the growing number of EPL fans in the United States with all of the news, schedules, results and links they need on one page instead of visiting several different web sites."

South Florida resident Harris, known professionally as "The Gaffer," launched EPL Talk in 2005 to fill a void in the lives of EPL fans in the United States. Each season, more than 1.3 billion fans worldwide follow the EPL. In the United States, Premiership games are broadcast live on Fox Soccer Channel, which has approximately 30 million cable and satellite subscribers.

The EPL Talk web site features daily news updates, U.S. TV listings for Premiership games, schedules, results, a blog that's updated daily and more. EPL Talk Magazine, available as a free download from the EPL Talk web site, is the only online publication written for die-hard Premier League fans that experience the games on TV and via the Internet. The EPL Talk Podcast, meanwhile, is available as a free download from iTunes and the web site, and is the only soccer interview show on the Internet. The EPL Talk web site is at

The new features planned for EPL Talk between now and August 19th include:

-- Daily countdown on the EPL Talk Blog. Between now and the beginning of
the English Premier League season on August 19th, the EPL Talk Blog will be
updated on a daily basis with news, insights and observations about the
    English Premiership.
-- Interviews with soccer celebrities. Every Sunday night, the EPL Talk
Podcast will feature an interview with a different soccer celebrity.
Previous interviewees have included former Miami Fusion coach and now GolTV
commentator Ray Hudson, ESPN's Allen Hopkins, former Miami resident and now
Fox Soccer Channel lead commentator Max Bretos, and many more.
-- Weekly contests. Each week, the EPL Talk Podcast will be giving away
free EPL Talk T-shirts and other merchandise.
-- Free soccer magazine. The third issue of the EPL Talk Magazine will be
released in early August. The online magazine is available as a free
download and features articles that capture the mood and experience of what
it's like to watch the English Premier League on TV.
Recently interviewed by BBC Radio Five, Harris is an avid soccer fan. In 2001, he surprised his now-wife by proposing marriage to her in front of 12,000 fans during half-time at a Miami Fusion match at Lockhart Stadium, Fort Lauderdale. More recently, Harris has been watching World Cup matches at South Florida ethnic pubs and restaurants to experience the different cultures, and has been writing about his journeys on the EPL Talk Blog.

"Whether it's the World Cup or the English Premier League, South Florida is the best place in the world to watch televised soccer games," said Harris. "We can see more live Premiership matches on TV here than in England. Plus, with South Florida's wonderful climate, it's the perfect setting to watch games instead of the cold, rainy weather in England."
