ePlus Technology Earns Microsoft Gold Competencies in SharePoint Deployment Planning Services and Desktop Deployment Planning Services

HERNDON, VA--(Marketwire - November 17, 2008) - ePlus inc. (NASDAQ: PLUS) today announced that ePlus Technology inc., a wholly owned subsidiary, has been awarded two Microsoft Gold Competencies: SharePoint Deployment Planning Services (SDPS) and Desktop Deployment Planning Services (DDPS). By earning these two competencies, ePlus met the specific requirements as well as the technical skills and certifications required for each Microsoft technology.

As an approved Microsoft SDPS Service Provider, ePlus has the processes, tools, training, and support needed to help customers outline a tailored plan for the deployment of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. With the Microsoft SDPS accreditation, ePlus can provide best practices, analyze customers' organizational environments, and provide tools and services that can help them plan their Office SharePoint Server implementation. The number of engagement days available is determined by each customer's Microsoft Software Assurance coverage.

At the end of the engagement, customers will have a customized roadmap for their unique environment that includes a comprehensive business plan, timelines, and resources to help successfully transform their collaborative processes by using Office SharePoint Server. ePlus is authorized to provide services in the following areas: collaboration, portals, enterprise search, and enterprise and Web content management.

"The SDPS competency enables ePlus to deliver additional services to enhance our SharePoint practice and provide our clients the ability to increase individual and team productivity and share knowledge," said Ken Farber, president of ePlus Systems. "Our experience has helped clients improve information access and collaboration within numerous vertical markets, including financial, manufacturing, non-profit, and higher education."

The Microsoft DDPS qualification allows ePlus to provide the fundamental analysis, business case, process, and technical procedures that customers need to execute a comprehensive desktop deployment project and extend the business value of their Microsoft Office or Microsoft Windows software upgrade. Through this deployment, customers can establish a secure and well-managed desktop infrastructure, increase usage and productivity, lower total cost of ownership, and improve return on investment.

ePlus deploys the Zero Touch solution based on the Microsoft Solution Accelerator for Business Desktop Deployment and Zero Touch best practices from Microsoft. With the Zero Touch solution, network and desktop administrators can automate the deployment process, reducing cost and errors.

"We're happy to add two more Microsoft Gold Competencies to our comprehensive list of credentials," said Mark Marron, senior vice president of ePlus Technology. "Through the use of best practices and tools, high-quality and personalized service, and our role as a subject matter expert, ePlus can help customers identify roadmaps to further optimize their infrastructure, collaboration, and business productivity."

"ePlus is well positioned as an authorized SDPS and DDPS service provider to help customers gain maximum value from their SharePoint and Desktop deployments," said Greg Urquhart, general manager, US ISV and National SI Organization at Microsoft. "SDPS and DDPS are a great matchup between our customers and our partners, because the customers win twice: They get expert deployment planning to optimize their infrastructure as well as added value in terms of enhanced efficiencies, lower costs, and a customized solution that is tailored to their needs."
