Epson Launches Epson Business Council to Inspire and Support Micro Businesses Around Europe

Jo Fairley Joins Three Other Leading Business Experts From France, Germany and Italy to Discuss Issues Affecting Micro Businesses

LONDON--(Marketwire - November 11, 2010) - Epson, the digital imaging leader, is announcing the launch of the Epson Business Council, a platform providing business insights as well as support and advice for micro businesses across Europe.

The Epson Business Council comprises four leading European business experts:

  • UK: Jo Fairley, co-founder of Green & Black's premium confectionery range
  • France: Alain Bosetti, multi-entrepreneur and founder and President of the "Micro Enterprise Show"
  • Germany: Dr Hasso Kaempfe, former chairman of the board of Mast Jägermeister AG, micro business consultant and member of Board of the German Brands Association
  • Italy: Marco Montemagno, co-founder of Internet and social enterprise companies including Augmendy and Codice Internet

The four business experts held a meeting this week in Munich, Germany and discussed issues, including:

  • Getting the right people into the business
  • Leadership and employee engagement
  • Financing your business and managing growth
  • Communication and social media

The panel discussions were facilitated by the esteemed UK journalist, author and broadcaster Anthony Hilton.

Jo Fairley:
"If I'd had access to individuals with the type of wide business experience that the Epson Business Council is providing when I first started my company I'm sure there would have been some experiences and decisions I could have handled in a different way. Business guidance from people who have been there and done that and ironed the t-shirt is very hard to come by, so the Epson Business Council provides a unique opportunity for micro businesses to get valuable business insights, which can lead them on the right path to success."

Rob Clark, Executive Director, Epson Europe:
"Setting up and managing a successful company can be challenging, especially in today's business environment. As part of Epson's ambition to further understand its customers and continuously evolve with them, the Epson Business Council has been founded to provide exclusive insight to support and inspire micro businesses."

Epson develops and provides a wide range of products designed to meet the constantly evolving needs of micro businesses. Its latest range has been re-engineered to deliver the performance elements demanded by micro businesses, such as increased print speeds and reduced running costs while still delivering high quality output.

The information discussed by the Epson Business Council will be communicated over the next few weeks. The final Epson Business Council report will be launched in January 2011 and will be available to download on the Epson Europe website.
