Equilar CEO David Chun Named to 2011 NACD Directorship 100

For the Second Consecutive Year David Chun Chosen as One of the Nation's 100 Most Influential Board and Corporate Governance Professionals

REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 11, 2011) - David Chun, Founder and CEO of Equilar, has been named as a member of the 2011 National Association of Corporate Directors' (NACD) Directorship 100, a prestigious list of the most influential professionals in corporate governance. This is Chun's second consecutive appearance in the Directorship 100, emphasizing the important role Equilar plays as a leader in executive and board compensation research and benchmarking.

"The D100 honorees represent the most influential leaders whose decisions impact both Wall Street and Main Street and echo around the globe," said Kenneth Daly, president and CEO of NACD. "As the voice of the director, it is important for NACD to help set the standard by recognizing these visionaries as examples to others."

"I am deeply honored to have been included in this year's NACD Directorship 100," said Chun. "Since its inception, Equilar has provided independent, high-quality information to assist companies that strive for good corporate governance."

The members of the NACD Directorship 100 are chosen from over 1,000 candidates by a panel of distinguished corporate governance luminaries. All nominations are approved by the NACD's Center for Board Leadership and endorsed by its board of directors. Chun's photograph and bio, along with those of other Directorship 100 members, appeared in the September 2011 issue of NACD Directorship magazine.

Chun will also attend the 2011 NACD Directorship 100 Forum and will be recognized along with other honorees at a gala dinner on November 8, 2011 at New York City's Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

NACD recently recognized the Directorship 100 honorees which distinguishes the most influential leaders in the boardroom and the corporate governance community. Honorees have demonstrated their commitment to upholding the highest standards and best practices in corporate governance, as well as helping to promote NACD's initiatives to further boardroom diversity.

The full list is comprised of more than 100 directors and officers alongside more than 100 boardroom advocates in 13 categories: Regulators and Rule Makers, Investors, Exchanges, Attorneys and the Plaintiffs Bar, Academics, Auditors and Accountants, Compensation Advisors, D&O Liability Advisors, Journalists, Crisis Communications, Policy Advisors, Proxy, and Executive Recruiters. The top leaders of corporate governance chosen this year represent a range of organizations including Fidelity Investments, JPMorgan Chase, CalPERS, The Wall Street Journal, Berkshire Hathaway Inc., General Electric and Stanford Law School.

The methodology to determine the NACD Directorship 100 finalists includes a review of quantitative results from an NACD Directorship survey including NACD members, search engine rankings, and qualitative measures including peer input from NACD chapters, expert review, major media references, and review by an editorial advisory board for each of the more than 1,000 nominations. Directors and Officers on the list are chosen for their individual attributes, not because of the board on which they serve. Conversely, honorees in the Governance Institutions and Professionals are included based on the influence of the organizations they serve.
