Equinox Minerals Limited-Letter to Shareholders: Amendment to Form of Proxy/CDI Voting Instruction Form

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - April 26, 2007) -

NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION TO U.S. NEWS WIRE SERVICES OR FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE U.S.

Equinox Minerals Limited (TSX:EQN)(ASX:EQN) ("Equinox") announced a clarification today to the form of proxy/CDI Voting Instruction Form provided to its shareholders in connection with its annual general meeting scheduled for May 10, 2007 (the "Meeting"). In the voting box for resolutions (d), (e), (f), (g) and (h), the form of proxy/CDI Voting Instruction Form provides shareholders with the option to "vote" or "withhold from voting" for the resolution. The voting box is intended to provide shareholders with an option to "vote for" or "vote against" resolutions (d), (e), (f), (g) and (h). An amended form of proxy/CDI Voting Instruction Form which clarifies this option has been delivered to registered shareholders and posted to www.sedar.com and www.asx.com.au.

The Chairman of the Meeting, CIBC Mellon Trust Company and Advanced Share Registry Services in tabulating the proxies, will consider any original form of proxy/CDI Voting Instruction Form which indicates a "withhold from voting" selection in respect of resolutions (d), (e), (f), (g) and (h) as a vote against that resolution. Shareholders who have submitted an original form of proxy/CDI Voting Instruction Form and, as a result of this clarification, would like to change their vote, may do so by depositing (1) an instrument in writing revoking the original proxy and (2) a completed amended form of proxy/CDI Voting Instruction Form, which may be obtained from Equinox, its transfer agent, CIBC Mellon Trust Company or its Australian share registry, Advanced Share Registry Services. A description of the process to revoke a proxy is provided in the Management Proxy Circular in the case of holders of Common Shares and on the CDI Voting Instruction Form in the case of holders of CHESS Depositary Interests, mailed to shareholders in connection with the Meeting which is also available on www.sedar.com and www.asx.com.au.
