eResearch Issues Initiating Report on Augusta Resource Corporation

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 17, 2006) - eResearch analysts, Amy Stephenson, MBA, CFA, and Bob Weir, B.Sc., B.Comm., CFA, have written an Initiating Report on Augusta Resource Corporation (TSX:AZC). Augusta Resource is a Canadian mineral exploration and development company with a focus on copper and other base metals in the southwest U.S.A.

In the Report, the Analysts state that the Company's 100%-owned Rosemont Property in Arizona "... has the potential to become one of the largest open-pit copper/molybdenum deposits in the United States."

The Analysts go on to say, "As with all junior mining companies, the shares are a risky investment ... as it is essentially a call on bringing the Rosemont mine to the production stage, which could take up to 5 years." However, "With copper prices at or near historic highs, the economic viability of properties like Rosemont becomes increasingly attractive."
