Eric Lefkofsky -- and His Wife Liz Pledge $500,000 to Johns Hopkins University

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - November 20, 2015) - Groupon Chairman and Co-founder Eric Lefkofsky and his wife Liz have donated $500,000 to the Cancer Program at the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center in Baltimore. The gift was funded through the Lefkofsky Family Foundation and will support immunology research.

Founded in 1876, Johns Hopkins Medicine (JHM) is a multi-billion dollar integrated global health enterprise and one of the leading health care systems in the United States. JHM unites physicians and scientists of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with the health professionals, organizations and facilities of The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Health System to support their shared vision: "Together, we will deliver the promise of medicine." Liz and Eric Lefkofsky formed the Lefkofsky Family Foundation to support scientific, civic and educational causes and organizations around the world. The Foundation has given financial support for medical research to several leading institutions including the Mayo Clinic and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
