Escape from Saskatchewan Penitentiary-Minimum Security Unit


PRINCE ALBERT, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwired - Oct. 6, 2015) - Correctional Service Canada

On October 5, 2015 during the 9:30 p.m. count in the minimum security unit at Saskatchewan Penitentiary, staff members discovered that Hector Thomas Bird was not accounted for.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Prince Albert Police Service and the Prince Albert detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.

Hector Thomas Bird is 23 years old, measures 170 cm (5'7") in height and weighs 53 kg (117 lbs). He has a medium complexion, brown eyes and black hair. He is currently serving a sentence of 3 years for Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference and Fail To Comply With a Probation Order.

Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Hector Thomas Bird is asked to contact police.

CSC will investigate the circumstances of this incident and is working with the police to locate the offender as quickly as possible.

CSC has given the police all of the information available to help arrest the inmate.
