Escape From Waseskun Healing Centre


LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - April 4, 2013) - On April 3, 2013, at approximately 10 p.m., Sean Ryan, a federal inmate from Waseskun Healing Centre, located in Saint-Alphonse-Rodriguez, escaped. Waseskun Healing Centre and the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) have contacted the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Sean Ryan, 53 years old, is described as 180 cm in height and his weight is 81Kg (178 lbs). He has green eyes, brown hair, a tattoo of an aboriginal warrior, an aboriginal woman and a Maltese cross on his left forearm and a tattoo of an aboriginal Elder on his left elbow. He also has scars on his abdomen, on his right foot and on his left forearm. He is serving an indeterminate sentence since February 16, 1994 for Second Degree Murder, two counts of Sexual assault and Breaking and entering with intent.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Sean Ryan is asked to contact police.

CSC and Waseskun Healing Centre will be conducting a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and are working with the SQ to locate this offender as quickly as possible.

CSC has given the police all available information to assist in the inmate's apprehension.
