Escape Lawful Custody Stan Daniels Healing Centre: Offender Lenny Michael PICHE

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Sept. 4, 2007) - Sometime during the night prior to the 08:00 formal count on Monday September 2, 2007, Offender Lenny Michael Piche left the Stan Daniels Healing Centre in Edmonton, AB. Edmonton Police Services were notified.

Offender Lenny Piche is 27 years old serving a 2 year, 6 month sentence for Manslaughter and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. His sentence commenced on June 1, 2006. He was eligible for Full Parole on April 1, 2007. He is Aboriginal and has a medium complexion, short black hair, and brown eyes. He has tattoos on both his arms and hands.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Offender Piche is asked to contact police.

The Stan Daniels Healing Center is operated and staffed by Native Counselling Services of Alberta (NCSA) and is located at 9516 101 Avenue in downtown Edmonton. NCSA provides a range of spiritual and correctional programs to both offenders on conditional release and minimum security inmates through agreement with the Solicitor General of Canada. At the time of the incident, there were 17 inmates and 35 conditionally released offenders residing at the Stan Daniels Healing Center.

The Correctional Service of Canada and Native Counselling Services of Alberta will be conducting a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
