WEST CHESTER, OH and CORAL SPRINGS, FL--(Marketwired - Aug 18, 2016) - Escort, Inc., a leader in radar and laser detection technology, and NAV-TV Corp., a leading innovator and manufacturer of OEM integration and safety products for the automotive aftermarket, today announced their collaborative partnership on the Cluster Integrated Radar (CLiR™) interface for display of radar detector warnings on a vehicle's instrument cluster.
CLiR is a controller area network (CAN) interface that utilizes NAV-TV's patented CAN filtering technology. This enables communication between the radar detector and the vehicle network to seamlessly display and control an array of data and functions through the factory steering wheel, including the detector's power, volume, sensitivity, location marking, mute, laser disable, software updating, and more.
Additional features include:
- User-selectable "auto laser disable:" automatically shuts down the laser shifters for 30 seconds upon alert
- On-board USB port: allows for software updates, ensuring a wide range of present and future vehicle compatibility
- On-board power: 4 AMP, 12 Volt accessory output to power the radar detector
- Plug-and-Play installation
"All of us at NAV-TV look forward to our ongoing affiliation with Escort and to future collaborative efforts, given their standing as a dominant force in the radar detection industry and a clear brand leader in the space," said Moni Melman, CEO of NAV-TV. "This partnership will serve to strengthen customer satisfaction for all brands involved while enhancing driver safety given its ability to allow drivers to safely interact with their detector with minimal effort or distractions."
"This partnership pushes Escort forward in the ongoing integration of our installed systems," said Sally Washlow, CEO of Escort, Inc. "We continually strive to deliver seamless, intelligent and accessible products and enhancements, and with the integration with NAV-TV, drivers are now able to continue to access Escort's reliable radar detection warnings even more safely."
CLiR will be available in August in select Audi vehicles and compatible with Escort's PASSPORT® 9500CI and Beltronics™ STiR Plus high-performance "stealth" radar systems, followed closely by integration in the 2017 Porsche 911 in September. Compatibility for additional Porsche and Audi models will be added later this year, and vehicle integrations with BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Dodge, Ferrari, Ford, GMC, Land Rover, Lexus, Maserati and Mercedes Benz will become available in early 2017.
All CLiR interfaces will be available through NAV-TV. For more information on CLIR or to place an order please contact NAV-TV at 1-866-477-3336 or visit us at www.navtv.com.
